Hi, I’m Chris kendrick.
I’m a qualified teacher, experienced school leader, and professional photographer.
I specialise in supporting GCSE and A-Level photography students to improve their coursework, develop stronger portfolios, and achieve higher grades. With a background in education and a deep understanding of how exam boards assess photography, I know exactly what students need to succeed.
Throughout my career in education, I’ve worked across a range of roles including senior leadership, where I was responsible for improving outcomes, supporting students, and developing high-quality teaching and learning. This experience means I don’t just understand photography — I understand how to teach it effectively. I am fully insured and hold a full, enhanced DBS check.
Alongside my work in education, I run a professional photography business, creating high-quality images across landscape and commercial projects. This allows me to bring real-world experience into every session, helping students bridge the gap between academic work and practical photography skills.
I work out of my home studio in South Cumbria, in the gorgeous Lake District.
My approach is clear, structured, and supportive. I focus on helping students build confidence, understand expectations, and produce work they are proud of.
Whether you need help developing ideas, improving your technical skills, or refining your coursework, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
My Approach
Every student is as individual as the work that they produce and I firmly believe that tailoring the sessions to their needs is the absolute best way for them to get the most out of us working together. My GCSE and A-Level photography tutoring sessions are designed around each student, how they learn and what they need to succeed.
Tailored Sessions
My 1:1 GCSE and A-Level photography sessions are tailored to the individual needs of every students to ensure that they are getting the most out of the sessions in a way that suits them, their ability and the style of their work.
